In the shadow of the Pyramids is an exhibition that reflects Egyptian photographer Laura El-Tantawy's nine year journey of entrenched reportage surrounding the "January 25 Revolution" at Tahrir Squire, Cairo.
About the Artist:
The artist Laura El-Tantawy (b. 1980) in Worcestershire, UK is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia (USA). She worked as newspaper photographer between 2002 and 2005 in the USA. Since 2005 her interests shifted to long-term documentary photography. Her work has been exhibited in Egypt, UK, Spain, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Turkey, France, India and USA. Laura will be exhibiting at Unseen Amsterdam in September 2017 and La Nuu Festival in Spain in October 2017. She has published three monographs and is currently working on her forth.
She lives and works between Cairo and London.
